Strive Construction is building a house at 489 Admiral St. This blog is about the framing stage, which is the next step after the foundation has been poured and allowed to dry. The above picture is of an excavator that is being used to lift lumber so the third floor can be framed.
Before this can happen the framing starts with the floor joists. The floor joists are premade then put into place. The floor joists make up what is called the subfloor. Next, the particleboard will be nailed on top of the subfloor.
To the left is the interior. You can see some of the walls are already being framed. The diagonal boards are put in temporarily to keep the walls straight. The showers are brought in before the walls are finished because they are too big to fit through a doorway.
This is the framing of the top floor and the roof. There are only a few days of this stage of building left. The framing is only the beginning of a house. Next, the electrical and plumbing will go in.
